Marines & BCYC

Lt. Col. Neil Schuehle
with BCYC Member Dick Stone

In fall 2003, BCYC became a support organization for the Force-Recon Marine unit based at Camp Pendleton. On December 19, 2003, 10 Marines attended the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade as guests of BCYC, the beginning of a tradition at BCYC with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company. In 2006, the company changed Marine organizations and was renamed the 1st Marine Special Operations Battalion (1MSOB). BCYC now holds a series of events each year in support of our Marines - including Marine attendance at the Christmas Boat Parade, BCYC Opening Day ceremonies, Las Commodoras luncheons, Thanksgiving Dinners at member homes, as well as clothing, household items, baby-care and toys for kids collection drives. Each holiday season, because of the generous contributions of BCYC members, airline tickets are purchased to bring Marines home for the holidays.

Your assistance in keeping this tradition alive is extremely important.
Your monetary contribution, in addition to active participation in the various collection drives is greatly appreciated.
Details for each event will be published in The Masthead as well as through email communication.
