Small-boat racing was the genesis of BCYC and today we race sailboats of all sizes. Many of our racers participate in most of the PHRF and one-design events locally, while we also have a core group of serious professionals. The Junior Sailing program is recognized as one of the finest in Southern California, providing our junior sailors with an enhanced sense of self-reliance, knowledge of seamanship and a strong appreciation of teamwork.
The social scene at the club is very diverse and includes the annual Commodore’s Ball and New Years Eve party, a strong group of dedicated tap dancers who train every Wednesday, fishing tournaments, cruises to local destinations throughout the year, themed fine-dining events and the Showboat dinner-theater – a staged spectacular featuring a members-only cast.
